The dust, 2026
Poem on 80gsm

A small attempt to turn the guilt of not cleaning a forgotten corner of my bathroom into something more generous: giving the dust a life, a perspective and a reason to have stayed.

Flock, 2026
Washi paper

Folding cranes is soothingly repetitive, but then I end up with whole heaps of cranes just sitting around the house, so I decided to do something with them.

Twists and Turns, 2022
100% Merino wool

I knitted this as part of a Mystery Knit Along. The designer released the pattern in sections week by week. I didn’t know what it would like, or how the colours would work together (or not work together) until it came to life on my needles.

“Happy birthday Mum”
2026

From Rienne Dreyer: My 10-year-old daughter Marli asked me my favourite animal, then painted me this beautiful portrait of a leopard as a surprise for my birthday in April.

An Akubra, burnt art markings

An Akubra, with named places that I have visited for work, throughout my time at Tattarang/Mindeoo. Not forgetting where I’ve been.

I take thousands of landscape photos and I always wonder whether I’ll ever look at them again. Recently I’ve been turning the good ones into paintings.

Watercolour and pencil on paper

I have always hated watercolour. My wife got me a watercolour class for my last birthday. I reluctantly went to the class. Turns out I was wrong (I often am) and I actually love watercolour.

Things I’ve stepped on as a 7 year old’s aunt., 2025
Random things I have stepped on all over the house

Things I’ve stepped on throughout my time living with my 7 year old nephew. Some brought me pain, some brought me laughs. I don’’t recommend having a nephew.

Beach shacks, 2025
Water colour on paper

I grew up close to the North Sea, and the iconic little colourful beach shacks instantly transport me back. They hold a deep sense of belonging and nostalgia for me; a little piece of home packed with sand, a sea breeze, laughter, kites or just an empty beach in winter.

Black Clay - Stoneware, under glazed exterior surface and black gloss glaze interior surface

I enjoy working with Black Clay, the clay is beautiful to throw.

I love to create texture by carving my pieces. By applying an underglaze, it allowed me to carve the linear patterns to get a lovely earth/water feeling. They are some of my favourite pieces.
